Lives and works in Berlin.

At the core of Jovan Turčinović’s work lies the gesture itself: intimate, nearly invisible actions that operate as a form of silent performance. These gestures are not about spectacle but connection — between himself and others, or between objects and the space. He finalizes his work through installations, sculptures, and sound, and although personal, he leaves it open for viewers to reshape its meaning. He warms a cup holder with a USB heater, collects bed sheets to hold a door open, scans traces of an old doormat, or turns off lights in the exhibition space — these small shifts carry emotional weight, allowing objects, people, and architecture to meet in new ways.

Working with worn, touched, and traveled materials, Jovan recontextualizes objects not to dominate space, but to let them activate it. His practice blends void with trace, memory, and atmosphere, guided by an awareness of mental health and everyday emotional subtleties. Visually, he seeks calm and reduced cognitive load, leaving space for imagination and potential. He is drawn to what barely exists yet alters everything around it — the quiet moment, the understated act, the gesture you could almost miss.
